Thanks very much for your reply :)
That's really interesting how they changed it for the London and Toronto versions. The two versions must be quite different!
I never would've imagined that line of Sam's being used in the context the London version used it in lol, but I imagine it would have just as much of an emotional impact.
Frodo starts to act delirious - is that to say, he was laughing and talking nonsense and things like that? (That's usually what I think of when I think "delirious").

Also, In the London version, Sam says "Don't go where I can't follow," but he says it because Frodo starts acting delirious and doesn't seem to know where he is, and not because he's unconscious. They change the context of the line from the book, but it still works well. Both Peter Howe and James Loye did an amazing job with this scene.

In the London version, Shelob isn't really able to poison Frodo because of the mithril coat, but she does leave him winded. Sam thinks he's dead when he first comes in, and after he fights Shelob off, he goes to Frodo and discovers that he's alive.
In the Toronto version (which I didn't see), Shelob poisons Frodo, and the orcs come to take him away. The orcs have also captured Gollum, and Gollum tells Sam that Frodo isn't dead. Sam chops off an orc's head and saves Frodo.

Have been in london to see it. Recommended to everyone. to bad they stopped it, cause it was a great musical!

Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to see this. hopefully I will when it tours to Australia and New Zealand. Anyway I was wondering, the scene with Shelob the spider and when Sam thinks Frodo's dead, what was that like on stage? Was it a really emotional part like in the original?
Thanks very much to anyone who replies ^_^
