Good question. I would contact YTB and ask. I would also contact the airline and check. You should have received a confirmation reservation code. My guess is that you'll be OK... but better safe than sorry.

Disappointing news for me. I just bought tickets via YTB on 10/9/2008. Does this mean I can't get my tickets or that my ticket will not be honored?

YTB's bank was shut down by the FDIC for unsafe practices on Friday October 10, 2008.

It was announced two weeks ago that one of the major share holders and principals in YTB is trying to sell off $4 million dollars of stock. This is never a good sign. The key people are bailing out.

The fact is, that at this point, with all the lawsuits and negative press, that there are better options for people in regard to home based businesses, and if you are wanting to be a part of the travel industry. Why fight a fight that you don't have to fight? Why take on problems that you don't have too?

One of YTBs board members abruptly resigned yesterday.
MarkEwing33 (September 7, 2008 at 4:39 am)
YTB's SEC filing: John D. Simmons resigned from the Board of Directors of YTB International, Inc. Mr. Simmons resignation was prompted by his belief that as a general matter he could not effectively influence the practices of the Company's management. Mr. Simmons has not furnished the Company with any written correspondence concerning...his resignation. Mr. Simmons was considered an independent director by the Company and was a member of the Company's Investment Committee.

I believe that people are compelled to make income claims to make it easy to "sucker" recruits into their business. There is even an mlm slang for the practice. It is called "fake it tell you make it". This is where most mlm/network marketing companies get into trouble. Bad Karma!

Today I was able to gathere several documents that shed a lot of light on the real life of travelbytommy. I'll be happy to share them with you. Just drop me an email.

If you want to know why the California Attorney General wants to shut down YTB, and is suing them for $25 million, check out travelbytommy's comment below! This is one of the major problems with MLM/Network marketing companies. Some Reps will go out there and say or do anything to recruit people...in hopes that they will get rich. So, even if an MLM company is a good company, there can be bad reps out there that can get them in trouble. It is reps like these that give MLM a bad name. |
