James Lovelock says Global Warming is now at point of no return. Other top climate scientists are more hopeful but say we only have less than 10 years before it's irreversible and time is running out. Bush Administrations been accused of asking top climate scientists at NASA to STOP speaking out about the climate crisis and of altering scientific journals reporting on the phenomenon. We all need to speak up NOW or the Human Race will join the MILLIONS of other Species that will be extinct by 2050 from Global Warming. www.climatecrisis.net www.greatemergence.blogspot.com

the polar ice caps havn't not been melting at any point in the last 28 THOUSAND YEARS!!! its all obviously because of our carbon emissions

same spam comment - blah blah no acceptance 30,000 real scientists dont agree don't let this ONE person fool you

Unlike blogs and videos, the science literature universally recognizes anthropogenic warming, with almost unanimous concern it poses a severe threat, based on the evidence that can be found there. Anyone claiming an exception is welcome to provide the reference - title, authors, journal, vol. number, pages, publication year - with a VERBATIM QUOTATION OF ANY PASSAGE ALLEGING NON-EXISTENCE OF ANTHROPOGENIC WARMING. Given the universal acceptance, science has moved on to focus on CO2 mitigation.
wkwickham (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
again, simply not true - when you take the time to read this yourself - and I know you have it is not universal at all the literature is filled with so many maybes, mights, probable comments it essentailly is meaningless

Unlike 7-8 years ago, when scientific consensus judged anthropogenic warming only to be "likely", the literature now universally recognizes the warming, with near universal perception it poses a severe threat if CO2 is not abated (see AR4 WG1). The most compelling evidence is in the journals, but those without access can Google "Global Warming" for a wikipedia overview, "Climate Book" for rigorous mathematics, and "Lean Rind 2008" for a recent paper confirming CO2 predominance in recent warming.

no thats not true either - there are some scientists who have said they have observed a warming trend between 1975 and 2005 and that humans "are likely" contributing hardly science , hardly a confirmation, and hardly worth wrecking our economy over I have seen a scary trend with you eco guys - you care more about this than humanity itself many of you want to limit human birth you see humanity as evil you hate any successful country or economy I will fight you til my last breath

Couldn't have put it better myself. Speaking in general terms, the absurdity of trying to control climate change demonstrates yet another effect of accepting popular paranoia as truth. Solar cycles anyone? Peace.

"(from 280 to 387 ppm) due to anthropogenic emissions since 1850." That's not true ! The 280 to 387 is the complete CO2 increase.A grain of truth in a mountain of nonsense.
grastog1313 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Chesterton - What's critical is not %CO2, but %CO2 increase, now 38% (from 280 to 387 ppm) due to anthropogenic emissions since 1850. Based on standard physics principles of radiative forcing, first formalized by Arrhenius in 1896, it's now possible to calculate the effect on temperature of increaing CO2 - about a 3C increase per CO2 doubling. Although these estimates are approximate, they are consistent with observations. Google the wikipedia "Global Warming" article for more details.

Humans cannot warm or cool the earth short of nuclear winter. Mars is 95% CO2 and shows no unusual warming. Earth is .0037% CO2.
