I'd used networks well before the internet, so was used to chat(such as BITNET Relay). The BIG thing for me was when the web browser Mosaic was released and you could access all this different info from your computer. And yes, I typed 'porn' as well :) me and my colleague spent many a night shift at the computer centre oogling the girls. (there was no company net usage monitoring in those days).

It's weird that I actually have friends that don't remember what it was like before the internet existed. I can still remember the first time my family got "internet" back in 1996. Me and my brother and sister were just looking at the boxes of anything to find websites on them, because we didnt even know about search engines back then lol. I also remember the first time I wanted to find porn on a search engine, literally typing "porn" as my search. I don't miss the dialup sound at all.
