Note on the rejected EU Constitution and Lisbon Treaty: The people of France and the Netherlands rejected the proposed EU constitution in the 2005 referendums. After this, other countries cancelled a promised referendum and the EU Constitution was re-written as an "amending treaty" or a "reform treaty" and named "Treaty of Lisbon". On the basis of this deceit, they claimed that no referendums are necessary on the Lisbon Treaty. Ireland was constitutionally required to hold a referendum and on the 12 June 2008 the people of Ireland gave a resounding No to Lisbon. Yet this vote is not being respected and the rule of law is being ignored. The EU leaders agreed at the June 19-20 EU Summit that ratifications must go on. Moreover, no other government is asking the people. The Lisbon Treaty establishes a new "European Union" with joint citizenship - an EU "federal" State that is technically and politically empowered to centralize more power in Brussels. The treaty also stipulates the militarisation of the Union in order to 'police the world' just like the US does today. ....................... .......... Yep, Now, with the enormous bailouts and the government buying stocks in the companies it bails out, the Fed is getting bigger. Still, how are things in Germany? May sound random but everytime I see a black block vid its in Germany. Is there a movement going on in Europe against this stuff? I hear that alot of youth in Europe are really pissed off with the whole thing. In America there's alot of street-level stuff, like Ron Paul's "Campaign for Liberty" a grassroots movement.

Those who can claim to be a folk, a people can do so when they have stories to tell, stories to pass on from generation to generation; when they more than codified law, rather when they have a code of conduct that they pass from generation to generation. The E.U. exists as a method, a machine to control the many peoples of Europe at the behest of the Hidden Aristocracy. The time is now for all good peoples of Europe to stand up against the E.U.

the lisbon treaty is just a bill which has been drawn up that gives europe more power over the european countries. if it came into force each memeber state of the european union would have to hand over more and more powers that they use in their own countries to brussels

The loans will expose 320,000 Icelanders to a brutal recession, soaring inflation and an enormous debt burden that will haunt them for years in the form of taxes, threatening to trigger mass emigration. The social and political implications of the crisis and the loans needed to bail the country out will be apparent in the months to come. The government has already agreed to reverse its long-standing opposition to joining the EU and adopting the euro.

Democratic?I am a strong supporter of the European project...but what i do disagree with is the answer to this question -- How many peoples of Europe were actually given the chance to vote on the treaty?....The number to me is troubling as a Democrat.
