Some people are not ready for MODERN jazz guitar. I always encourage them to try back in a few years.

Super stuff.
Laird's solo... well, it was fine, as far as it went, but I kept thinking I've heard better bass solos, and he's probably just doing it to keep "even" with the rest of the group since they all solo. That said, I also agree that he "works" very well with these guys and they didn't *NEED* another supersonic player at that position, already having so many in the rest of the troupe. He played what was needed, and did it well.
Ever seen a basketball team with 5 20PPG players? :)

My new guitarist plays in total Buckethead-style, and suddenly folks are saying my band's new video "It Ain't Easy" (at my youtube page) is some of the best fusion on the internet.

dont even mention the names of some funny guitar players with the master's names....
gambale,mclaughlin,al di meola,paco de lucia,
allan holdsworth,shawn lane.....these players are the masters all of rest is just regular players....ohh and i forgot the father of rock guitar JIMI ofcourse
