Building A Forge

I am not only a person who loves music but I also like to make things. I am starting to learn blacksmithing and I am building my forge. The metal I used was too thin so I rendered some clay and sand to line it with. Thought I would put a little fiddle music with it also to entertain the music enthusiasts. The tunes are Finley Creek blues and Louisville Breakdown. See my Oldtime Blog at: http://oldtime-smith.blogspot....

Thank you so much for posting this. I need a new hobby, and this gives me a great use for my old grill. Any tricks you may have learned since would be very helpful. Thanks again! People like you have my utmost respect.

It has a 50/50 mix of clay and sand and it protects the steel quite well. I have been using it now ever since I posted this video back in march of 2007 and it works great. Ocasionally you have to clear out glass (melted sand) but everthing else works great...and at a $free price tag you cant beat it.
