It seems as if after eveerybody has seen this movie all these kids feel like they need to go to alaska and live off the land, they don't even think about the reasons he left for there, they just want the glory of living off the land as he alex did.

heres my take.......i think that its bad that the only people he really hurt were the ones that loved him. by the time he realized that you cant exist alone and content it was too late. that was like committing suicide and crushing the peoples hearts around him. this movie is so sad for me to watch.
