...If you really wanna go there...McCain really seems to have a worse track record, based on what I've seen trickling out of the US. It's not much to do with me but he's made a generally worse impression on me, and stuff like this isn't helping.

That is true, but to be honest, I wouldn't worry about President-Elect Obama being the socialist, after President Bush started nationalizing major banks, spending tax dollars on the bail-out equivalent of a planned economy, and the patriot act which takes all citizen's rights and puts them "on loan" to the public. It's hard to tell exactly where any politician is going, and most nations drift over time into either; Ultra-socialist, Dictatorship, or Paralyzed Polarized. It's a random game.
