Shiver Me Timbers, the first of two songs inexplicably not included on the DVD version of Bette Midler's wonderful concert film, Divine Madness. The other, also uploaded to this sight is, Rainbow Sleeve. Here, the Divine Ms. M. begins with a bit of her infamous humor and then follows up with her wonderful version of Shiver Me Timbers. At last, her fans can now enjoy these two fantastic songs that were in the original move but were saddly cut out of the DVD release.

...and that's with 103 degree temp. and a bad case of the flu. Amazing in every way. (and probably my favorite song by her...)

I love the way she flops her arms down at 4:08 There's something so moving about that gesture It really is a perfect performance of a song The ending where they make the shape of a ship is genius too well - the whole thing...

Bette is the best, this song is awesome! I remember seeing "Divine Madness" in the theaters when it first came out, and I remember being incredibly moved by this song. I still am, all these years later. So attention makers of the DVD: resolve whatever problems you've got with including this on the disc, and re-release "Divine Madness" with this soulful, magnificent performance. Such musical art can't be held to the idiocies and legalities of copyright or whatever is keeping it off the DVD.

What a beautiful voice she has. How could I forget that? And how great to see Katey Sagal (the middle background singer)! I forgot that she started with Bette.
