if the gyro was what was keeping it balanced, it wouldn't be able to stay balanced when doing a curve, the bike isn't even tilting to the side, it is probably somthing more on the lines of the Segway, gyros used as sensors only, and hundred of micro adjustments per second to compensate any imbalance
