well i think saruman was right when he said gandalf elected the way of pain xD
i think saruman hopes to be able to take sauron's place first acting as an ally to him too, hes no fool :p specially when u look to his face when he says "yet u did not have the wit to see it" xD
saruman may died but think didnt had so much pain like gandalf xD

Although not that directly as stated in the book, but I would say the movie also tells you that Saruman hopes to be able to take Sauron's place first acting as an ally to him. Look at his movements, actions, these all tell you he is not a simple alliance he is trying to build but something where he has the chance to become the real Lord of the Ring (thinking that putting his hand on the "Ash Nazg", the One Ring, he will be able to rule Middle Earth).

Hamerslpoe Saruman is not killed by Gandalf. In the book, Saruman is killed by Griman in The Shire. That's it, and then Saruman's spirit quickly rises and heads to the sky. Curunir (Saruman) is believed to have been forgiving for turning evil, and being able to return to the Undying Lands. So Curunir (Saruman), is back with the rest of the maiar, elves, and the valar. |
