Also this is not psychology, but psychological abuse.
Psychology = the art of understanding the brain. Not playing around with it.
It can have serious after effects on some people. And I don't really get why he does it. It's interesting, but manipulation is imo a little bit unethical.

He doesn't see him as invisible, but he lets his fantasy take over.
It's kinda like people that Daydream. You can talk to them, and they don't appear to hear you, but it's not that they "REALLY" can't hear you. They just choose in their mind not to hear you. Mr Brown just takes him on a daydream. Why a student? He probably dreams of being the next spielberg, and moviemakers generally have a dream like visualization. A dark room also helps brown being centre of attention w/o distraction.

It works better with the film student here because Derren is referencing the movie about the invisible man. That and that Derren Brown is one of the best out there.

Have you ever seen someone cluck like a chicken or underess in a room full of people because they were hypnotised?
It's the same thing but the scenario is tailor made & more specific to suit the suggestible "Film Student".

He is neither "simply a magician" or a "genius psychologist" & there is nothing "Revealing" about Simon Singh's artical. It's a load of nonsense moaning about D.Brown being seen as Science fact when he has never claimed to be anything of the sort...
He uses many different skills including psychology, magic, mathematics & science etc.
If you don't at least believe in the Hypnotism & NLP techniques he demonstrates then you are very naive indeed.
