Michael Jordan 2002: NBA Record 51 pts at age 38

At age 38 and 315 days, MJ shattered the record for the oldest player to score 50+. The game prior had MJ scoring just 6 due to injury which stopped his NBA-record double-figures scoring streak at 866 games. MJ came out to make up for that here. It should be mentioned that MJ's injury limited him to just 2 full-game scrimmages the entire year in practice. One must wonder, without the injury, what might have been possible at ages 38-40? Zone was allowed starting that year with hand-checking tighter than today as one-legged, twilight MJ broke a few records that day.

a ball hog is not really a bad thing if he makes most shots which he did in this game

whoever said he was a ball hog in that game missed the whole point. the point was you watched one of the greatest players of all time just school players 10-15 years younger than him. in none of those highlights did you see a dunk or a forced three pointer it was a clinic in jump shooting and dribble penetration. just exploiting a mismatch. wow

I watched an interview yesterday, in which he said that he can still play better than most of the players on the court. I believe he really meant it now~

You have to take in to consideration that Jordan had the hot hand that night and was feelin the jumper so im pretty sure he was focused more on shooting than passing.

jordan was better at 38 than every guy on the floor and that wiz team was AWFUL, chris whitney ,jahidi white, kwame brown man they were terrible, if there was a serious player on that team with jordan they couldve have made the playoffs.
