When this recording was in the UK top twenty the radio show could only play the top 19 due to the length of this recording. it is as good now as it was then in 1960,I remember.

Such a wonderful song. Great campfire song but hard to remember all the verses when you're drunk. The only band that could do this song well besides Marty Robbins was The Grateful Dead. They did an amazing cover and it became a regular in their shows.

One of my favorite songs ever...didn't hear it for years, when they played it on the radio in 1973, suddenly I had flashbacks to how much I liked this song as a little boy. Have not forgotten it since!!

My parents loved this song. It would always bring me great memories because my Dad and I loved football and this song was always played during the Sun Bowl in El Paso, TX. You will be missed Marty Robbins!
