Say the govt invested half of what has spent in wars on Middle East and now the USofA would be energy-independent and have access to ultracheap fuel for it´s factories and farms.

yep yep, there is only one little problem, the maintenance of the reactors and all the equipment makes the green-oil, a little more expensive that regular oil, and that little is millions for big oil companies, it's a mafia... with the improvement of that vertical system they actualy could solve the problem :D when the next report goes out???

i am sooooo with this guy, this could happen overnight, and yet shoot we are fighting a war so that we pay MORE for oil,not because we cant get it or its at peak, lies lies,I would invest, however its gone down .10 since i last ckd,it was at 1.00 stabilized at .50,its the right fuel of all the alternatives, they wont let it happen.Teach us how to grow it,make it oily and just pour it into our diesal engines, and its a done deal,do it for mankind, you'll get rich and be rewarded by god

That's probably the coolest thing I've seen ephemeralization wise.

The good thing about problem #2 is that algae growth does not require clean fresh water. You can use gray water or even salt water, which we have an abundance of.
crock703 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
"electing breeds of algae for their lipid outputs... probably not patentable. might be lower risk of getting squashed than you might think... :))) i'm very optimistic about this." The algae is probably definitely patentable, especially if it is a unique and/or engineered strain with unique genetic markers. I wouldn't be surprised if Monstanto already has or is pursuing such patents - they have them for pigs that had already been bred for centuries.

this is purely amazing, we need to develop this uninhibited!
kurtscash (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
you also grow it right next to polluting factories, funnel the emissions into the Algae farm and it ues the Co2 emissions as nutrition!!! using up to 90% of the Co2 !!!
