@Saskachewan: I don't know about the banana, except that physics professors are often excentic. The chalk is placed at an angle on the board, friction makes it "jump" at regular interval, thus the dots.

Why is he wearing that banana? :P And how he makes that chalk to draw those dots that fast and precisely? He's really amazing teacher. I've learned more physics from his lectures than during my whole life! :)
