I have left a few comments before but I want to say that I was brought up in this type of radical religion and turned my life around through becoming educated in college. If any of you watching this have any serious questions about the inner goings on of this type of religion just send me a reply and I will answer it as soon as I can.

what did anyone now have to do with them? - watch whole material of Jesus Camp. And you will see what ppl today have to do with them. The christian way of indoctrinating and brainwashing masses for the purpose of making Church a powerful political globally significant force that can shamelessly abuse children and kill "in the name of God" remained the same to this day.

Plus, I never read dan brown, yet if you mentioned him it may be a good lecture indeed. I dunno what they are teaching you americans in your pretend-to-be-schools, but if you're questioning that Christian Church and the whole concept of Dogma dramatically slowed the technological progress of civilization and the very genesis of name "dark ages". Then you must be reading some seriously wicked isht O_o

The Church and ALL it's actions are in the name of God... Or... it's NOT a Church or it doesn't have anything to do with God in the first place. Period. There's really nothing to debate about here.
Eurynomos69 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
O R'ly? I said that it was about politics. But it doesn't change the fact that it was also "in the name of God". I explained it once will explain again (cause americans are knowledge resistant). When you elect Church hierarchs including Pope. Then pope decides to invade a country "in the name of God". Then how come praying and going to such Church and believeing in any crap IS supposed to be in the name of God? Yet from Crusades and other atrocities they may just wash their hands?
stummerific (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
you read too many dan brown novels. also, why are you bringing up the crusades? what did anyone now have to do with them? not ot mention the fact that they werent really about religion, it was politics.
Eurynomos69 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Opus Dei and other Church institutions were confiscating technology, blackmailing and harrasing scientist and in general delaying the technological progress globally for ages. That alone is a crime against humanity, agains whole civilization.

Still like I said, in past the records weren't all that accurate and whoever things that Inquisition and Crusades were just some small scale scirmish not mass murdering must be really limited. Plus, count how many ppl were harrased, hurt or who died indirectly from the hand of Church? Who were told to starve in the name of god? Who had to die on illness that Church had the cure for but they hidden it from the ppl? |
