achilles...interesting question was he real..well let me tell you that he was real. Mythology is not only about creating myths...but becoming a myth.That is the outcome of being the greatest warrior of an era....and achilles became ans still is remembered. artifacts excavated in the 1930's are mentioning a great warrior from the greeks...that is him. He is also mentioed later in iliad. Being great turns you into a myth. we just loved to make it bigger ;)

guys i understand that everyone glorifies achillies even i do but its a lengend. no ones if he existead. in old artifacts proved hector really lived but there no prove there was a real achillies.
