My point was he does all the things you've said (i.e. 'as well as playing bass'), and has all the other trimmings that makes him a great frontman. That's why i prefer him to Wooten. But xUSAZ

no, les is better because he can play the bass fast and good,and he doesn't use a pick to play fast,he uses just his fingers.listen to his personall bass solo and my name is mud, then tell me if wooten is better than les.

I never understood the whole who's a better musician debate. It's pointless. It's all according to your own opnions who is YOUR favorite bass player not who you say is the best. I love Les, Wooten, Geddy, Hamm, Jaco, ect. . . But my favorite bassist is Flea. I don't think he's the "best" his style just appeals to me.

What puts Les ahead of Wooten is that he has to concentrate on singing and prancing about the stage like an idiot as well as playing bass. Wooten has great technique. But that's all it is - technique.
