once upon a time politics was about ideas democracy, communism, capitlaism etc.
Now politics is all about covering your own ass while exposing the ass cheeks of your opponent.
When was the last time a new revolutionary idea was introduced in to western politics?
Politicians seem to focus on just surviving the next election...when in reality they should set a goal, something to acheive and then go at it like hell.

How about the case also of the "Elites" (using this word for the lack of a better name), have ways of turning the resistance into the circus part of "bread and circuses" so it ends up entertaining and distracting, rather than having real change come about. Turn politics into a sporting event where you have people who cheer, and are subdued. And watching this entertains others.

Wow. I never heard anyone attack Henry Rollins before.
I went to see him with my friends once, they were so bewildered by him, but i got a kind of bill maher 'no guns no defense let's just all be women' vibe from him and didn't like it.
Thanks for helping me clear that one up....to date, 5 years later, of all of us that went to see Rollins that day...I'm the only one who owns a firearm.

This is the best arguement I have ever seen how the two party system works. It splits the country apart and distracts the country from the real issues.
