Excellent movie, it's worth reading the subtitles...and the two that follow, White and Red are also good....a bit deep, but if you like independent films you'd like these.

And really Zbigniew Kowalski:-)His surname is most popular in Poland like Smith in England. Preisner is first pseudonym and I think he changed surname for Preisner like Wydrzycki for Niemen.

It wasn't answer for your post mikolaj it was answer for post where somebody wrote that the "blue" and rest of kieslowski's movies are french.For my, really Kieslowski is Kieslowski not Polish not French, but absolute human of arts and life.Pure human..like almost everybody.Off course I'v gote distance.

Nie dziwie sie mu.Sama bym zmienila naziwsko na Jego miejscu.Nie sprzedaje sie dobrze.A sam Pan Preisner, nie jest takim swietym pasjonata muzyki.Cienie przeszlosci wciaz nad Nim kraza.Tak czy inaczej uklony.

Well, kinda is... it`s not that he took his wife`s surname officially, maybe that`s some 'homeage' to her.
It`s a matter of taste, "Kowalski" is the most common Polish surname you can imagine... so little bit plain and maybe... it`s just 'marketing' ;)
