That seams like a very expensive, and slow way to do it.

Basically they destroy the building from the bottom and up, they take the bottom floor, add hydraulic pillars(the red ones in the video), lower, destroy next floor, lower, repeat, over and over, it's not as fast as shaped charges perhaps but in crowded areas it's far more efficient.
