Bagua zhangs trains upper body flexibility. It will keep one's body supple even at advanced age.

I put some links to sites etc containing that symbol in a comment, but I guess it was a youtube no-no. (even when I replaced the . with 'dot')
there was also a site with kung fu lolcats, which had a brilliant bagua one

again i´ll just have to guess:it may be corresponding with the spirals and turns in bagua, which seem more dynamic than for example in taijiquan.now i´m interested as well.maybe someone else could help?

Oh yeah, the two elongated things (fullscreening helps). Nevertheless, why does bagua specifically use this symbol instead of the more common one?
nanhuazhenren (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
i don´t really know, but to me it just looks like a stylized version of the taiji symbol.the two dots are also there

I wish people would give the whole 'avatar' thing up. Its a cartoon for gods sake! Yes, it has actual kung fu in it, but why watch cartoons when you could be doing the real thing? It's a helluva lot healthier than watching telly...
Enough ranting, that symbol on the wall: does anyone know what it is? it seems to be a reccurring thing in bagua (Representing the circular motion?) I've seen yin&yang symbols spiralling tightly like that, but this seems to be a solid colour, with no dots of opposite
