I know they work because people have called other people on their cell phones from airlines. Like the 9/11 airplanes, a lot of people on flight there used their cellphones to call and say good bye. And they're on their own private plane, the rules are different there. At a certain point you can have electronic devices on. Definately not during take off and landing.

quick question....we have a Grulfstream IV and there is NOOOOO way that they can be airborne and on the phone at the same time. Whether its GSM or CDMA A Sat phone would interrupt the radar only sat phones installed on the plane would work.........just sayin
