Establishing the sound of a clicker as a conditioned SR

Procedure for establishing the sound of a clicker as a conditioned reinforcer for operant behaviour. This is one of several videos I am making at the request of my friend and colleague Arild Karlsen. Arild Karlsen is a psychologist and is teaching a class at the Akershus University collage hear in Norway. If we present this click sound simultaneity with food enough times the click alone can become what Pavlov called a conditioned stimulus. This means that the click alone can elicit many of the bodily reactions and processes that food would produce. When this relationship is established we can call the click a conditioned reinforcer for operant behaviour. Operant behavior is behaviour that can be shaped and maintained by its consequences. To establish the click as a conditioned reinforcer we simply click simultaneously with the presentation of food.

My cats and I have struggled to decipher your atrocious grammar and orthography in your confused writings. It's hard to tell but a possible interpretation is that you don't like me? The entire clowder and I are totally devastated over this possibility. I'm so depressed and torn to peaces over the possibility that some 17 year old boy doesn't like me. I just don't know what to do. What must I do to gain your approval? PLEASE how can I make it right?

Very interesting video. I also enjoyed the video where Zimba learned to pick up and move the cork. It really helps me understand this process that I went over in my Psychology class even better. Also, I was wondering if they are past a certain age it's too late to teach them. The 3 cats and 1 dog I life with are 5 years, 3 years, 1 year, and 1.5 years, respectively. Would I also be able to do this same type of training with the dog? The Bengals are a definate plus!
