This rare commercial from 1971 hasn't aired in at least 20 years. As a kid in the 70s, it really scared the hell out of me. Now it's a shrine of ultimate nostalgia. Gotta love that early 70s retro look, eh? I know there's a lot of you out there that remember this as kids so here's your chance to relive and enjoy it once more.

As I was waiting for my sister to come out of the ER, I spied some Mr. Yuk stickers and just had to have them. I put one on one of my folders at work.

By the way, that's true back in the '70s even Sesame Street had some dark things. I remember the one that scared me was on quite often - it was about counting a certain number and they'd keep showing that number of a certain thing and counting them. The scary part was a man in a chefs uniform carrying that number of a certain kind of food (pies usually) down the stairs and then falling down the stairs. My parents knew it scared me and we called him "The man that falls down."

I barely remember this. I think there was a different version in the late '70s that didn't show the matches, knives, etc. Last I saw it was at my grandmothers house around 1980-81. She had cable, which wasn't available in my town until 1989. I wasn't scared by it, I thought it was cool. My mom had the stickers on the cabinet under the sink. Remember in the 1970s the safety things we take for granted weren't generally available (locking sink cabinets, etc. even child proof caps.)

I never saw the PSA, but I always got the stickers at the county fair...When my kids were younger, we made up a "Mr. Yuk" song to the toon of "Mr. Plow" from "The Simpsons"...its a bit more cheery, lol
