I remember seeing this as a kid. Another attempt at Hero worship it would appear, but only on the surface. If you watch this movie you'll see he was willing to die to stop a tyrant. The song put's it beautifully at the chorus. After all, what are we but men and women with courage? Courage to stand up for what we believe in. To stop tyranny our hero was willing to die. Maybe a noble concept.

Queen's music fits perfectly with this campy sci/fi movie. Their other songs sound nothing like this one.
