What a great tribute to a great man. That Paul Newman was a wonderful actor and a wonderful human being is a given. However, I do think that this video shows David Letterman's own true character as well. Tributes like this as well as his first post-9/11 show and his tribute to the doctors who saved his life show that he's much more than just a wise-ass. Compare him to Jay Leno and you'll see who the nicer human being really is. I'm so glad Dave will still be there long after Leno is gone.

They threw away the blueprint after Newman was born. He was a great man, generous human being, who lived his life just being himself - a rare rare attribute these days, there will not be another like him.

Quite so.I bought the The Verdict DVD (never watched it before) a couple of days after he died and he gave one hell of a performance.
